The conventional narrative regarding Christianity’s inception often revolves around Rome, Jerusalem, or Constantinople. However, a significant and often-overlooked reality is that Africa was pivotal in the initial development of Christianity. Christian theological, philosophical, and biblical traditions were cultivated in Africa, spanning from the church of Alexandria, founded in the 1st century, to the present-day uncolonized Ethiopian Orthodox tradition. Most Western historians often neglect significant events that occurred on African soil that were fundamental to Christianity’s rise as a global religion.
